I started making jewellery for myself a few years ago and was soon hooked – I love making jewellery. I’m always looking for beads that are a little bit different, without spending a fortune, and I recently started making my own resin beads and pendants. I’d bought a book from Amazon about jewellery making and they’d sent me an email with suggestions of books I might be interested in. One of them was resin jewellery and I loved some of the projects so I bought the book and the rest, as they say, is history. Resin is very versatile as it cures to a clear glass like finish but you can also add pigments or dyes to colour it and embed found items in it. I also hand paint designs on acetate and embed these in the resin.
